Registrations and Licences

The approvals a business needs before it can trade, obtained once and then kept alive on a calendar.

Overview

Registrations are treated as one off paperwork and then quietly forgotten, which is where the trouble starts. An FSSAI licence lapses, an IEC goes un-updated, a provident fund return is missed, and the consequence surfaces during a tender, a funding round or an inspection. We obtain these approvals and then hold them on the same compliance calendar as everything else.

Work in this practice is delivered under the same operating standard that applies across the firm. The compliance calendar is mapped at the outset and driven by us, positions involving judgement are documented with the authority relied upon at the time they are taken, and nothing is filed or issued without an independent internal review by someone other than the preparer.

Where a matter touches another practice area, and most do, it is handled inside the same file rather than referred outward. That is the point of holding these disciplines together.

Common questions

Our FSSAI licence has expired. What happens now?

An expired licence cannot simply be renewed once the grace window closes, and continuing to operate on it carries penalty exposure. We establish how long it has been lapsed, then either renew with the late fee or apply afresh, and tell you which before we act.

Do we need an IEC if we only import occasionally?

Yes. The Import Export Code is required for any import or export of goods or services regardless of frequency or value, and customs will not clear a consignment without it. It is a one time registration, though details must be updated when they change.
